"REAL TALK" for Youth

The 'Real Talk' program implements curriculum with groups of youth at numerous partnership sites throughout Aiken County. Our program coordinator works with each site in order to choose and implement a curriculum that has been proven to PREVENT-teen pregnancy, STD's, HIV/AIDS and PROMOTE-abstinence, healthy relationships and responsible decisions among youth.

Short-term or one-time classes on topics such as puberty, healthy relationships, teen pregnancy and STD's/HIV are also available.

Girls Circle Program is a research proven intervention that is implemented in some elementary and middle schools in Aiken County. It is youth development approach that creates a safe place for girls to address risky behaviors, build on personal strengths, and improve relationships in a format that interests and engages girls. Groups are lead by a certified facilitator, who covers a variety of topics such as: friendship, body image, female identity, stereotypes, trusting self and others, aggression and dating violence, diversity and cultural heritage, relationships, substance abuse and risk behaviors, goals setting, and self-care.
